John NelsonPhD

John serves as the Nebraska Extension Water and Integrated Cropping Systems Extension Educator for Lancaster, Cass, and Otoe Counties. John grew up on the family farm in Eastern Colorado and worked on it full-time for several years before returning to his professional career. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Soil & Crop Science from Colorado State University, master’s degree in Crop Science from North Carolina State University and Ph.D. in Agronomy from Texas Tech University. Prior to moving to Nebraska, John was an assistant professor and field agronomist for Kansas State University in the North Central Kansas Region.
