Scott is a passionate horticulturist with a deep commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship. With over a decade of experience in volunteer management, he co-leads a dedicated group of more than 300 Extension Master Gardener Volunteers, fostering education and outreach in sustainable gardening practices. As a co-founder of the Nebraska Pollinator Habitat Certification program, Scott has helped empower homeowners and organizations to create thriving habitats for pollinators.

In addition to his leadership roles, Scott serves on the Bellevue Tree Board and UNL Staff Senate, representing District 6. A certified arborist and tree risk assessment professional through the International Society of Arboriculture, Scott brings a wealth of expertise in tree care and preservation. His dedication to public service is complemented by his role in the 'Ask the Master Gardener' program, which has reached thousands of individuals through events and helpline services.

Scott holds a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Botany, Ecology, and Environmental Science and a B.S. in Environmental Geology from Northwest Missouri State University. He also earned a Master of Agriculture with a focus on plant systems from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
