Elizabeth Thiltges
Having grown up on a fifth-generation farm in southeast Nebraska, being involved in 4-H, and enjoying time with children really drove my passion and inspired me to pursue a career in Extension. I graduated from UNL in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education-Leadership option. Previously, I worked with Nemaha County 4-H as an Extension Assistant from June 2018-December 2021 and was a 4-H intern in Cheyenne County in the summer of 2017. I deliver positive youth development programs to youth through 4-H including Embryology, STEM after school clubs and out of school programs, STEM Days in classrooms, Ag Literacy Festivals, Animals Inside and Out, and have leadership of the 4-H program areas including Dogs, Cats, Household Pets, and the homeschool program. I also assist with others, for example: College and Career Success (including Next Chapter, Real World Money, and Connecting the Dots). I am a member of the NCEA (member of the Membership Services committee). I am also a member of the NCEA 4-H section and a member of the NAE4-HYDP, serve as a superintendent of the Stampede Hippology Contest, and was a superintendent of the State 4-H Poultry Show for 3 years. I have worked for Extension for 8 years, serving in this role for 4.5 years.
