My role is to support water education statewide. My primary focus areas are working with the public to make sure they have safe water to drink and working with farmers, ranchers, and water managers to support efforts for aquifer sustainability. To do that I build connections with research and extension faculty throughout the University of Nebraska system. Based in Lincoln, I work statewide for the Nebraska Water Center, Nebraska Extension, and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute, building partnerships with our state's water professionals. My Extension role is as Program Area Lead for the Water and Cropping Systems team, providing coordination and coaching in their mission to strengthen Nebraska agriculture & food systems while enhancing the health & wellbeing of all Nebraskans. My expertise is in systems analysis and science communication. I have a M.S. in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and a B.S. in Biological Systems Engineering from UNL. Along with my two boys, Aiden and Liam, and husband William, we love youth music, sports, and 4-H with our menagerie of pets and city chicks(ens). I grew up a Husker in rural Nuckolls & Thayer counties, where my uncle still farms.
